The site of this project is located within an aging suburban development, half a block from the Pacific Ocean. The clients wanted a home designed to feel open while providing privacy on this tight infill lot.
The design accomplishes these goals through the use of a large skylit atrium, high windows, and an open plan. Views of the sky and ocean are carefully orchestrated to create meaningfull places within the house and an ever-changing quality of light.
